Materials that resist molten aluminium penetration and corundum build-up, for melting and holding furnaces, launders, filter and degassing boxes. Includes non-wetting castables and precast shapes, boron-nitride coating, casting components and porous-plug gas-refining systems.
Components include distribution and adapter plates, tubes, ceramic filters, sprue cups, control rods, porous plugs, sleeves, floats, funnels, launders, filter boxes and degassing boxes. Furnace-lining materials include non-wetting castables, coatings, gunning materials, insulation and precast shapes.
Composite porous plugs and PLC-controlled gas systems introduce inert gas into molten aluminium. The system comprises porous plugs, chambers, steel sleeves and gas pipelines, and is used in fixed or tilting furnaces, intermediate launders and online degassing boxes.
